Dar Cherifa Restaurant Marrakech
Dar Cherifa is a magical, wonderfully restored, 16th century house built around a central courtyard with tall columns, ancient stucco work and old carved beams.
The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, there is no better place to enjoy a cup of tea and Moroccan pastries, or on a rainy day, spend a few hours with a good book.
Aside from offering stunning 16th century architecture and a zen ambiance, Dar Cherifa serves a really delicious lunch and dinner menu. The menu is Moroccan with an international twist. Skewers of ginger chicken are served with aromatic couscous, one of our firm favourite dishes in Marrakech.
The grilled vegetable plate and the vegetable briouattes are also divine. Even the standard kefta tagine is memorable for its succulent flavour.
Not to be missed is the “cake du jour” almond cake, drizzled in orange sauce.
On the ground floor there are alcoves with lazy sofas for dreaming, and then if you venture up the narrow, stone staircase, a delightful two-tier sun terrace offers an optimal spot for watching the setting sun.
Dar Cherifa can also be booked for exclusive use and makes a stunning setting for birthdays and other special events.
Located near the Mouassine Mosque, it’s open from 09h00 – 22h00 for drinks (non-alcoholic), light refreshments and main meals.
