Sidi Kaouki Essaouira
Sidi Kaouki is an unspoilt Berber village located 20km south of Essaouira on the Moroccan Atlantic Coast. At first sight it seems as if there really isn’t much to see, but spend a little time and you’ll fall in love with its rugged, untouched simple beauty.
With a huge sandy beach and often strong winds from June – August, like Essaouira, Sidi Kaouki is an ideal spot for kite surfing, regular surfing, camel riding and galloping horse rides along the length of the beach.
If active sport isn’t your thing, there are wonderful walking opportunities in the vicinity.
We stayed at the Blue Kaouki, a pleasant B&B just up from the beach offering sea views from many of the rooms, run by a Belgian lady, Veronique.
