In business since 1987 and renowned for its all-female team, this stalwart of the Marrakesh dining scene is still considered one of the best.
There are now two Al Fassia locations – the original on 55, Blvd Zerktouni in Gueliz, and since 2018, a second location in the Aguedal touristique zone which also offers hotel accommodation.
The menus (and quality of food) at both locations are the same. Menus are a la carte, and offer the classics of Moroccan cuisine, including lesser-known tagines such as chicken with caramelised pumpkin and beef with almonds and eggs. A popular specialty is the steamed shoulder of lamb which is slow cooked over many hours and needs to be ordered 24 hours in advance! Vegetarians are catered for also. Al Fassia is popular with Moroccans and tourists alike, so reservations are essential.
Current opening hours of Al Fassia are noon-14h30 and 19h30-23h00 Wednesday to Monday (closed Tuesdays)
