Ramadan 2014 in Marrakech will start on 28 June, give or take a day, and last through the majority of the month of July, ending on 27 July, again, give or take a day. The dates can never be exact as the start and end of Ramadan depends on sightings of a certain phase of the moon.
Travellers to Marrakech during Ramadan will find life for tourists continues almost unaffected. The biggest concern is always if it will be possible to find food and drink during the day, and the answer is a resounding YES. The majority of restaurants and cafes that cater to tourists remain open during the month of Ramadan with full, normal service. The only difference is that for around 30 minutes during the breaking of the fast (typically 19h30), the establishment will pause their regular service while the staff eat and drink for the first time that day.
Our Marrakech Riad remains open during the month of Ramadan and provides a great base for a cultural adventure in Morocco. For riad reservations contact our reservations team to book your preferred travel dates.
