A Hidden Gem

BernadetteMc, Cardiff, United Kingdom – 17 January, 2014

Tucked away in the quietest of side streets, this riad has it all in spades. Beautiful, comfortable, clean and the most amazing staff. Nothing is too much trouble including carrying the 3 trays that constitutes breakfast up to the roof terrace because the weather was so lovely. Hassan takes looking after you very seriously and nothing is too much trouble….

Wonderful Moroccan Cooking Class

Lee M, Dallas, Texas

I signed up for a cooking class for my husband and two daughters (17 and 20 years old), thinking it would be a great experience in Morocco. We booked it for the first morning we were there and what a wonderful introduction to Morocco and memorable day! We met at the Riad and Peter, the owner, explained what the day…

Silvia M, London, England – 3 January, 2014

I agree with this comment below – you can book it without reading all the reviews. We stayed 5 nights. Hassan is everything there – friendly, helps with anything you need. One day we informed a bit late that we would prefer to have dinner in the Riad. And Karima prepared a delicious tagine with kefta and eggs for two….

Beautiful Riad and Fantastic Customer Service

NeilM646, London, United Kingdom – 3 January, 2014

This was my first trip to Marrakech (went with the family) and I stayed one night in Dar Zaman and another two nights in another Riad elsewhere in the Medina. Dar Zaman was absolutely amazing. The Riad is well laid out, the rooms are functional and clean and, above all, the people running the place are amazing. Hassan, the day-to-day…

An Experience in Itself

joann_henderson, Seattle, Washington – 1 January, 2014

We were a group of five women who stayed in Riad Dar Zaman as the accommodation of choice on our trip to Marrakech, Morocco in October, 2013. It was the kind of vacation you never forget, largely due to the care of those you have entrusted with your rooming in a foreign location. The trip into the Medina from the…

Wonderful people and place

duwa J, Los Angeles, California – 26 December, 2013

We stayed 2 days at this place, and let me tell you that, you can book it without reading all the reviews. I felt like home at the second I put my feet in. What makes the beauty of this place Is firstly the good and charming vibe of the MANAGER ( HASSAN)!!! he is the BEST!!! Very friendly, helps…

Best hotel in a long time

JanGerber, Schaffhausen, Switzerland – 18 December, 2013

We stayed for a few days and selected this place because of its high customer ratings. We had a fantastic time, the best value for money ever probably. With only a handful of rooms, this place is very cozy and intimate. We got our own key and left and came what felt like to our own home. We received detailed…

Book this riad

Georgina H, Manchester, United Kingdom – 4 December, 2013

After spending some time trying to choose a Riad (there are hundreds), we went with Zaman and I am so glad we did because It is a great place to stay. Apart from the fundamentals-great breakfasts, beautiful decor and clean rooms, the staff are just fantastic. Especially Hassan who is always on hand to help with anything you may need…

The Best

Julie A – 28 November, 2013

We were made welcome from the beginning, with a welcome drink and little sweeties. Hassan thank you for all your help and tips, best places to see, eat and go. Wonderful, clean and friendly, a place not to be missed. A big thank you! Breakfast was lovely, brought fresh every day, rolls, warm croissants, yoghurt, fruit, omeletes and crepe, Mint…

Zaman, Days Gone By, in the 21st Century

Anjouan17, Pittsford, New York – 27 November, 2013

“Zaman” evokes the day of old in a way few English words do. And stepping into Riad Dar Zaman is like stepping back in time — but with a 21st century twist. The Riad has been beautifully restored, but much of the furniture is contemporary and sleek. Use of Malian mud cloth as art work pays tribute to Marrakech’s establishment…

A terrific travelling experience – skip the big hotels

Sionel, Warrington, United Kingdom – 27 November, 2013

A review of Dar Zaman was always going to be tricky. Reviews are comparative; I can pit one restaurant against another easily enough, and the same thing goes for hotels. But a riad? I’d never really even heard of a riad before booking into Dar Zaman, let alone stayed in one. Was it similar to a B&B or Guest House?…

Wonderful little oasis

kjones1, Reston, VA – 21 November, 2013

This riad is wonderful. Hassan is the most helpful person on the planet! It was very overwhelming being shown a map of the medina for the first time (and wondering how you wouldn’t get lost), but Hassan walked us through everything and we didn’t get lost once! He also had wonderful suggestions for restaurants, shops, and attractions. Peter was also…

Stylish and comfortable place away from the hustle and bustle

cwrugirl, Seattle, Washington – 19 November, 2013

We stayed here one night. The room is small but comfortable, clean and plush. The toiletries provided are nice as well. The water pressure in shower and wash basin was good and there was hot water all the time (which is not the case in many other places we stayed in Morocco). Hassan and Peter were helpful with directions and…

Second visit and still the best Riad in the Medina!

monique112, Montreal, Canada – 13 November, 2013

It was our second time in this Riad and it is was the same warm feeling of being at home. Peter, the owner and Hassan, the manager are always there to help you get around and makes sure that your stay in Marrakech is a great experience. Peter helped us organize our trip to the desert and everything was just…

A home from home

Eligmon, Wales, UK – 9 November, 2013

Dar Zaman is elegant and stylish with an atmosphere of calm tranquillity which is much appreciated after the madness of the medina. It is located in a residential area a litle away from the main souks etc so you don’t find yourself being accosted by people selling their wares as soon as you step out of the door. Rooms are…

MikeEden, Sao Marcos da Serra, Portugal – 5 November, 2013

I had the most wonderful holiday at the Dar Zaman Riad, nothing was to much trouble for Peter and his amazing staff, the rooms were just wonderful, clean and very comfortable all with A/C, Breakfast was a joy, I had dinner every night I was there, the cook is a wonder, and with only 4 rooms you have a much more “Personal Experience”…

I wish we could have bottled the essence of this place

azure983, Edinburgh, United Kingdom – 3 November, 2013

This Riad is really made by the presence of its owner Peter, and Hassan who helps him run the whole operation. Peter is a rare gem – quiet, unassuming but with a real care for his guests and their wellbeing. He goes out of his way to ensure that people who come here enjoy their experience. Advice, maps and support…

Tranquil riad in the heart of the medina

Kerry62_13, Edinburgh, United Kingdom – 29 October, 2013

Found this gem of a riad on trip advisor last year and spent a fantastic 3 days here. As we’ll has being right in the heart of the historic medina it was so lovely inside. We had the top floor garden room and it was lovely to walk out into the terrace were we would relax. Breakfast was also served…

A peaceful Oasis in the middle of a very hectic city

SL20132013, London, United Kingdom – 17 October, 2013

My mum and I really enjoyed our stay at Dar Zaman. We felt extremely safe and were very well looked after by Hassan and Peter. It was a real added bonus to receive a complimentary dinner on our first night, especially as we were feeling rather tired at the end of such a long travelling day. Peter and Hassan were…

Great place to stay

kiri235, London, United Kingdom – 23 September, 2013

We stayed in Dar Zaman for three nights and it was a great experience. The riad itself is beautiful and really well kept. We had the Baignoire room, which was very small but this was fine as we didn’t need to be in it much, however if you are staying for longer than 3 nights you might like to choose…

Stunning Riad – perfect for a first timer!

bertieboy, London, England – 15 September, 2013

We spent 3 nights at this Riad and it couldn’t have been better. As a first time visitor the help and advice from Peter and Hassan couldn’t have been more useful, and the location was perfect to walk in and out of the main attractions, whilst still being amongst the real Marrakech. A real oasis away from the madness. The…

Dar Zaman – a truly unique and special place

DidsMacdonald, Staunton, England – 15 September, 2013

Peter and his team were nothing short of excellent. From the telephone call before the trip to say “I haven’t heard from you about your arrival and I want to ensure you are met” to the final wave goodbye, Peter and Hamman were friendly, helpful, hospitable and went the extra mile. Two friends from New Zealand, my sister in law…

Awesome Hotel!

Jack H, Guildford, England – 13 September, 2013

Spent 3 nights over a long weekend in Marrakech and stayed here. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The rooms were very good and the hotel was perfectly positioned for shopping in the Souks.

LOVE this place!

oldseptblues, Brooklyn, New York – 10 September, 2013

We absolutely LOVED our time at this Riad! Genuinely one of the most amazing, caring places I have stayed in all my travels. It is a charming place to stay. We had the terrace room and loved that we had a beautiful outdoor space right outside our room. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff is beyond amazing….

Wise Choice for Marrakech

boasy, London – 8 September, 2013

Dar Zaman was an excellent choice as a first timer to Morocco and beginning my trip in Marrakesh. I chose it because as a non French- Arabic speaking solo female:) I wanted some support from an English speaker at the beginning of my adventure. Needless to say, reviews were all positive too. Peter, the owner is a cool guy. His…

Great Get-Away

JaneBis, Zurich, Switzerland – 9 August, 2013

…from the boiling HOT Marrakech. Quiet and calm…and still so close to the souks. Hassan was very helpful in introducing a few places to go – and helping with booking tables at restaurants. Lovely filling breakfast – even on my departure day (at 0630!). I would definitely stay here again.

Handy for the Souk

vkemdlel, Birmingham, United Kingdom – 9 August, 2013

Located in the medina Dar Zaman is just couple of minute’s walk from the famous souk (where you are guaranteed to get lost). We arranged an airport transfer with the riad when we arrived and were glad we did because it would be difficult to find if you had never been there before. The manager Hassan will cater to your…

The best decision you’ve made

Jessica S, London, United Kingdom – 2 August, 2013

Everyone must stay here at the Riad Dar Zaman. The staff are so attentive, generous, kind and offer wonderful recommendations. There is so much to see and do in Marrakech, from the busy souks, relaxing spas and yummy Moroccan tea. Staying at the Riad Dar Zaman allows you to experience authentic Marrakech Medina with everything a short walk away, Staying…

Calm Cool Oasis

jwain834, Newcastle, Staffs, United Kingdom – 24 June, 2013

You arrive in Marrakech, it is hot and dusty and worst of all your Taxi can’t take you to the door of your hotel. Why not? Because you have chosen to stay in a traditional Riad that is only a stones throw away from the bustling souks. You follow Hassan through a maze of narrow alleys until you arrive at…

patrickp, Breda, Netherlands – 5 June, 2013

Just stayed with my daughter 5 nights in this lovely Riad. Perfectly situated, clean, quiet and with a fantastic manager of the hotel (Hassan) that advised and helped us in a fantastic way. I really can advise to use this accommodation if you are planning to go to Marrakech…

Amazing stay again!!

Laura W, United Kingdom – 29 May, 2013

I stayed at the riad 2 yrs ago on a hen do and wanted my family to experience what an amazing time we had. The riad is beautiful and calming, an oasis away from the madness of the medina and souks. What really makes your stay special is Hassan. He looks after everything and really understands all your needs. He…

Even better second time around

johnny03, London, United Kingdom – 23 May, 2013

I stayed in the Dar Zaman some years ago. I was afraid that when I returned that the magic would have died. I was wrong, it was even better. Hassan and Peter could not do enough. But the special feature of this amazing Riad is the sense of tranquility you feel as you step in through the door. It is…

Wonderful Stay

KeriDublin, Geneva, Switzerland – 12 May, 2013

I loved this place – a beautiful, small riad, with the most amazing welcome from the staff – Hassan, the hotel manager was wonderful – as a lone female traveller, he was particularly helpful and nice, helping me find my way around the medina and giving me lots of tips on interesting places to visit. He knows so much and…

Don’t hesitate, just book it

sicMacc, Macclesfield, United Kingdom – 6 May, 2013

Had a 5 night stay at Dar Zaman in March 2013 and can’t recommend it highly enough. All the praise given in the other reviews is well deserved and I echo all the positive points that everyone else has made. The Riad is beautiful (especially so when candlelit at night), the room was a little small but that was absolutely…

An excellent stay – the riad staff manage everything with an effortless grace

HappyMatt, London, United Kingdom – 4 May, 2013

We had a great time staying at Riad Dar Zaman. We stayed in the room with a small balcony which meant we had lots of light flooding in from the central courtyard. Everything was very relaxed and relaxing and Hassan was really kind and helpful. He was great for local knowledge, drawing maps and organising trips for us. Nothing was…

Emma636, Bristol, United Kingdom – 3 May, 2013

This Riad really is as gorgeous as the pics and reviews on here say. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the courtyard and roof terrace are peaceful places to just sit and enjoy the sunshine. Hassan is a great host, and with his maps and guidance, we managed not to get too lost! We also had dinner at the Riad,…

kea11, London, United Kingdom – 1 May, 2013

Fantastic stay. Dar Zaman is in a perfect location for exploring Marrakech. Hassan is a brilliant host – he genuinely cares about the guests and their experience of Marrakech. He and Peter were very flexible in allowing my boyfriends bike / bike box to be stored in the beautiful courtyard. The food was incredible – breakfast and supper. The rooms…

Lovely food and excellent service

smsNewcastle, Newcastle, United Kingdom – 28 Apr, 2013

Very nice place to stay if you are visiting Marrakech. Hassan couldn’t have been more helpful. Rooms were lovely, as was the roof terrace. We were made to feel very welcome and I would definitely stay here again.
