New Year’s Eve in Marrakech
The period around the New Year is an exciting time to spend in Marrakech. The days are generally sunny and warm, with blue skies stretching to the snow-capped High Atlas Mountains to the south of the city. The nights are crisp with a festive atmosphere, and the smell of wood smoke from log fires hangs in the air.
There’s plenty to keep you busy in the red city at this time of year, with a host of museums, monuments, gardens and exhibitions to visit, and lots of delicious food to eat.
If you need some pampering, spend a day (or two) at the Beldi Country Club, lazing in the warm sun beneath majestic old olive trees, dipping in the pool to cool off from the warm winter sun. At the very least, book into a spa in the medina for a heavenly hammam, massage and other treatments.
Marrakech Riad Dar Zaman is the perfect base for a New Year adventure in Marrakech. From our sun terrace the view of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains is simply stunning. In the evenings log fires keep the riad toasty.
